This Standard sets out essential requirements for gas equipment. Gas equipment specifically designed for use in industrial processes carried out on industrial premises is excluded.

NOTES:

1 Other issues related to fitness for purpose, serviceability, installation and certification are covered in relevant Standards.

2 Other statutory and regulatory requirements, such as electrical safety requirements, may be applicable to gas equipment. It is the supplier’s responsibility to ensure that gas equipment complies with such requirements.

The objective of this Standard is to ensure that gas equipment is designed and constructed in accordance with good engineering practice such that it does not endanger the safety of persons (particularly children, the elderly and people with disabilities), domestic animals or property, when correctly installed and maintained, and used in applications for which it was intended.
