Specifies safety requirements for the safety of endoscopic equipment and integrated instrumentation used for medical diagnosis and for treatment in body cavities. It enables testing and certification of individual component parts of endoscopic equipment. This Standard is technically identical to IEC 601-2-18:1990, with the addition of an Appendix which lists Australian requirements. It is supplementary to AS 3200.1-1990, Approval and test specification - Medical electrical equipment, Part 1: General requirements for safety.
